First transplant of an entire human eye

Aaron James , survived an accident working as a high-voltage lineman when his face touched a live wire causing him to lose his left eye and injure part of his face

In a procedure never done before , over 140 surgeons at NYU Langone Health successfully transplanted a whole eye and parts face tissue Wich were all from a single donor Wich took about 21 hours

However Aaron James cannot see out of the transplanted eye however the surgeons restored blood flow to his eye and was an overall success
